This post will contain spoilers for the Danganronpa series. Please let me know if you would like to avoid them where possible!
That said, Hinata has another identity as Izuru Kamukura, one of the main villains of the series. As such, his backstory includes a litany of sensitive topics, including terrorism, murder, extreme violence and mass suicide.
The creation of Izuru Kamukura deals with medical abuse, medical experimentation, brain surgery and confinement. In doing so, they also erased his memories of his past, and suppressed his ability to feel emotions. He does have head scars from the operations as well.
Hinata himself deals with issues of memory loss (though he has regained the memories as of his canon point), memory manipulation, severe anxiety leading to dissociative episodes, and potential suicidal ideation.
